A boy and his pet tiger appear in the middle of Tokyo, heralding the beginning of a saga. Revealed to be Ryo Sanada and possessing a mystical armor with special powers, Wildfire, he saves a woman and a small boy from an attacking feudal era samurai. Four others with similar armor appear, and together they battle the invading empire of Talpa, who seeks to return to the mortal realm and rule over all and destroy all who oppose him.
